Overview
CookFlic is built with privacy at its core. Your recipes and cooking data stay on your device. AI processing runs on-device on supported iPhones for maximum privacy, and via secure cloud processing on all other devices — with no data ever stored either way. We believe your kitchen is your business, and we designed CookFlic to keep it that way.
Information We Collect
CookFlic collects minimal data. Recipes you save are stored locally on your device. If your device uses optional cloud AI processing, recipe data is sent temporarily for extraction and immediately discarded. We collect anonymous crash reports to improve app stability. No account is required to use CookFlic, and we do not collect personal information such as your name, email, or location.
How We Use Your Information
On-device AI handles recipe extraction, tagging, and ingredient matching directly on your iPhone. For older devices that rely on cloud AI as a fallback, recipe data is processed on our servers and never stored. Anonymous crash analytics help us identify and fix issues to make CookFlic more reliable for everyone.
Third-Party Services
CookFlic may use cloud-based AI services for recipe processing on devices that do not support on-device models. This data is processed in real time and not retained. We use anonymous crash reporting to monitor app health. We do not use advertising SDKs, data brokers, or social media tracking of any kind.
Data Storage and Security
All recipes and cooking data are stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage. There is no server-side database of your content. If you have iCloud backup enabled through your iOS settings, your app data may be included in your device backup, managed entirely by Apple.
Your Rights
You are in full control of your data. Delete all CookFlic data at any time by uninstalling the app. Export your recipes whenever you like. Since CookFlic does not require an account, there is no account to delete and no personal data stored on our servers.
Children's Privacy
CookFlic is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us so we can address it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of CookFlic after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
